Kitara FC are set to complete the signing of former SC Villa attacker Umar Lutalo before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that Lutalo will put pen to paper on a one year employment contract with the Stanbic Uganda Cup winners.
Lutalo is a free agent following expiration of his contract at Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa.
Croatian side NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica were the other side that was interested in Lutalo’s signature.
During his time at SC Villa, Lutalo made a total of 54 league appearances, scoring 10 goals and one league title.
The former Aspire Academy player can ably play as a left back, a left winger and an offensive midfielder.
Lutalo has previously featured for the national U20 Team The Hippos as well as the senior national team.
This transfer window, Kitara have boosted their squad with the acquisition of Marvin Nyanzi, Titus Ssematimba, Ronald Otti, Fred Amaku, David Ndihabwe, Ivan Sserubiri among others.
