Kitara, NEC renew acquaintances at the grand opening of Royals Park

Kitara FC will officially play their first ever league game at their new home ground in Butema against Hussein Mbalangu’s NEC FC.

The Royals used Masindi’s Booma Stadium as their home ground but will now use their own Royals Park based in Butema, Hoima.

Both Kitara and NEC FC come into this game on a high having won their respective opening fixtures emphatically.

Kitara beat newcomers Lugazi FC 3-1 courtesy of a Jude Ssemugabi brace and a goal from Frank Zaga Tumwesigye.

NEC beat Vipers 3-1 at Lugogo courtesy of goals from Muzamir Mutyaba, Cromwell Rwothomio and Paul Mucureezi who will be in the spotlight while facing his immediate former side.

The two sides will renew acquaintances having previously faced off in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final last season but also battled closely during their days in the FUFA Big League a season before.

Team News

Kitara will continue to miss defenders Benjamin Nyakoojo and Dudu Ramathan through injury.

New signing Moses Sseruyidde trained with team but his debut is a doubt.

NEC FC will be without Joseph Dhata and new signing Patrick Bayiga through injury.

Head To Head

Both sides won their respective home game 1-0 when they met in the league last season.

Overall, Kitara have a superior head to head record over NEC FC having won three of their five previous meetings.

The other two encounters resulted into one NEC FC win and a goalless draw at Bugolobi in the Big League.
