The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the dates for the qualifiers of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).
The final tournament is expected to be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania between 1st- 28 February next year.
Before the final tournament, the qualifiers are scheduled to start with the first round due on 25-27 October, 2024 and 1st-13th November.
The second round of the Qualifiers are to be played on 20th-22nd December.
Hosts Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania who will automatically qualify for the event will take part in the qualifiers.
The CECAFA Zone which has the three hosts will have an additional slot due to their automatic qualification as hosts and as a result the number of teams for the final tournament will increase to 19 teams.
Zones WAFU A, WAFU B, UNAF, UNIFFAC, and COSAFA will each have three qualifying teams.
Senegal are the reigning CHAN champions following their 5-4 penalty shootout triumph over previous hosts Algeria last year.
