Following the sacking of Sadick Sempigi, Uganda Premier league side Lugazi FC have named Oliver Mbekeka as interim head coach.
Sempigi leaves Lugazi FC bottom placed after five games with two points. During his time, they lost three and drew twice.
Mbekeka who has been serving as Sempigi’s assistant and will now work on an interim basis until the club names a new head coach.
She becomes the first female coach to manage in the Uganda Premier league.
Mbekeka has previously worked with Lady Doves FC, the Uganda Women’s U20 plus the Crested Cranes.
Her first game at the helms of Lugazi will be away to seven time Uganda Premier league champions Express FC on Tuesday, 22nd October.
She will work with Gerald Efiti who has been serving as the Second Assistant in charge of Junior while Adam Kizza Katongole is the goalkeeping coach.
The team Physiotherapist is Solomon Tayomba while Khasim Ssekirime is the team manager.
