David GOMBE
Lugazi FC are set to unveil David Obua as their next head coach on a one year employment contract, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
The former Uganda Cranes star has been unemployed since his departure at URA FC in April this year.
Obua who has UEFA A diploma replaces Sadick Sempigi who was sacked by the club last week following a poor start to Lugazi’s maiden campaign in the topflight.
Following Sempigi’s sacking, the club named Oliver Mbekeka as the interim coach.
Obua has had coaching stints with Maroons FC as assistant coach to George Nsimbe and also managed Lango Province in the 2022 FUFA Drum.
Lugazi FC will continue the search for their first win in the topflight on Tuesday when they face off with seven time Uganda Premier league champions Express FC under the floodlights of Nakivubo.
They are at the foot of the table with just two points they have garnered this term after registering two draws and losing three in the five matches they have played so far.
