Experienced Referee Mashood Ssali Retires

Mashood Ssali one of the most respected referees in the country has officially retired from refereeing.

On Monday, 6th January, Ssali officiated his final game as Vipers edged Maroons 1-0 at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Before the match at Kitende, players from both teams and fellow match officials formed a guard of honor for the retiring Ssali.

He was also presented with signed jerseys from both captains of Vipers SC and Maroons, Milton Karisa and Ronald Orombi respectively.

At fulltime whistle fellow referees had a moment with Ssali who has officiated for over 24 years.

During his illustrious 24 year refereeing career, Ssali has officiated AFCON Qualifier matches, World Cup Qualifiers and CAF Inter-club competitions and AFCON U-17.

He joins another experienced referee Ali Sabilla who also confirmed his retirement at the end of last year.
