Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC duo of Ayub Khalifah and Josephine Nambuya have been named Finance Trust Bank Women coach and player of the month of October.
The pair was rewarded on Tuesday, 5th November 2024 at Finance Trust Bank main branch (Twed Plaza).
This is the first time monthly awards have been held in Uganda’s topflight women league.
Ayub Khalifa beat Amus College WFC coach Faridah Bulega and Meddie Nyanzi of Lady Doves to the October gong.
Ayub won four games in four last month while Bulega won seven points from the four games her Amus College WFC team played. Meddie Nyanzi’s Lady Doves collected eight points during that time.
Meanwhile, highlyrated goalkeeper Nambuya won the player of the month accolade after managing four clean sheets in four games.
She beat her teammate Agnes Nabukenya who netted four goals in the month and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga’s high flying utility player Angel Auki Kigongo to the player of the month accolade.
Ayub and Nambuya both were awarded with a prize of 500,000/= attached with an accolade courtesy of the league sponsors Finance Trust Bank.
