Traditional Wrestling (Ekigwo Ekiganda), Mweso and the grand Finale of the Masaza Cycling Tour are some of the activities that will climax the Buganda Youth day 2024 slated for Saturday, 16th November in Lubiri Mengo.
In a press conference held in his office today Thursday 14th November at Bulange Mengo, Oweek.Robert Serwanga the Minister for Youth, Sports and Art highlighted on the activities of the memorable day,
“I call upon all youth in Buganda to come and join the celebrations. The two days have a lot such as an exhibition where the youth will showcase what they do, so come join a day full of fun, learning and tourism.”
Baker Ssejjengo the Buganda Youth Chairman called upon all the youth subjects to come and market what they make.
“We thank His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda for giving the Youth an opportunity to celebrate our day, it is a great opportunity for the youth to market what they do I call upon all the youth to come and join us on the big day.”
Over 100 participants are expected to take part in the Mweso competions, the draws are to be held on Saturday,16th November at 9:00am at Lubiri.
Bulemeezi is leading in the Masaza Cycling tour followed by Bugerere and Buddu in the second positions respectively depending on the competitions held in Bulemeezi and Ssingo previously.
Men with ordinary bikes will compete in 35km while the ladies 17.5km.
The men with Road bikes will compete in 70km and the ladies 35km
The day will climax with awarding of the outstanding performers with winners’ prizes and other prizes.
