Walukuba Barbarians and Avengers have been crowned champions of the fifth edition of the Kabaka Coronation Rugby 7S Cup held at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.
To emerge winners of the mens category, Walukuba Babarians defeated Life Guard Rams 12-07.
Avengers were the winners of the Ladies Category after defeating Lady Pacers 07-05.
Fazirah Namukwaya of Avengers was named MVP for the Ladies category while Francis Ankunda of Rams was the MVP for the men’s category.
Chief Guest Owek.Robert Serwanga Ssalongo who represented Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga appreciated the Rugby Union for joining the Kindom in organising the tournament,
“I appreciate Omulangira David Kintu Wasajja the patron Uganda Rugby Union, the Rugby Union, partners, participating teams and all those that made this tournament a success.”
“As the ministry we are going to focus a lot on this and our target is to fully support all sports disciplines in the ministry.”
Tens teams took part in the one day tournament.
