She Cranes progressed to the final of the 2024 Africa Netball Cup after overcoming Malawi in the semifinal on Friday at MTC Dome in Swakopmund municipality in Namibia.
Nelson Bogere coached side prevailed to the final after winning 51-43 over Malawi She Flames.
Malawi won the first quarter 14-08 before Uganda forced an halftime stalemate draw of 23 goals apiece.
In the third quarter, Uganda was leading 39-32 before securing a place in Saturday’s final with a scoreline of 51-43.
Meanwhile, South Africa overcame Zimbabwe 63-41 in the first semifinal to seal a meeting with the She Cranes in Saturday’s final.
Both South Africa and Uganda have won the championship on three occassions.
Uganda’s triumphs came in 2014,2017 and 2018 and will be seeking a fourth against South Africa.
