Uganda Premier league side Mbale Heroes have suspended their head coach Asaph Mwebaze for a period of 28 days.

According to the document from the club management Mwebaze will temporarily be suspended from his duties with immediate effect.

“This decision follows serious allegations brought against him which are now the subject of a comprehensive investigation. In keeping with the club’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, Mr Mwebaze will not be involved in any coaching or management activities during this period.” Read part of the document from the club

“This step has been taken in the best interests of the club, it’s stakeholders and to ensure Mwebaze’s safety.”

Following his suspension, Mwebaze will not be in charge of the club for their forthcoming league fixtures against Maroons FC and NEC FC.

It should be noted that during the 2023/24 FUFA Big League campaign Mwebaze decided to part ways with Mbale Heroes due to unpaid salary arrears.

He returned to the club earlier this season following the departure of Richard Malinga. It remains to be seen if Mwebaze will return to management after his suspension.

Mbale Heroes are currently bottom of the Uganda Premier league table with just six points
