NEC FC are set to complete the signing of midfielder Emmanuel Alex Wasswa from Express FC, Swift Sports understands.

Wasswa assumed the Express FC captain armband when he rejoined the club at the start of the ongoing season.

He is expected to seal a move to NEC FC following the completion of Express’ first round 15 games with a 2-0 win over UPDF FC at Bombo.

Wasswa is expected to boost the NEC FC midfield department as the Hussein Mbalangu coached side aims to compete for the league title.

Wasswa is also expected to add steel and options in the midfield that largely relies on Enock Ssebagala and Ibrahim Thembo.

He has been an instrumental and inspirational figure for Express so far this season and will leave the club in a respectable position on the table.

The former SC Villa, KCCA and Ndejje University midfielder was in attendance as NEC beat Mbarara City last Saturday at Lugogo.

NEC will conclude their first round campaign with an away game against Mbale Heroes today in Mbale City.
