Violah Nambi completes move to Finland after leaving Napoli

Crested Cranes forward Violah Nambi Ssebunya has joined Finnish giants Aland United Women Football Club.

Her move comes four days after her departure from Italian Serie A side Napoli SSC where she spent only six months.

Nambi left Napoli on mutual consent in pursuit of playing time after

Nambi expressed her delight upon joining Aland United and hopes to write history at the club;

“I am so happy to join Åland United and be part of this journey. I look forward to reaching the club’s goals and making history together. It’s my first time playing in Finland, and I can’t wait to get started.” Nambi said via the club website.

Aland United are three time league champions with their most recent coming in 2020 and three Finnish Women’s Cups.

Nambi will become the second Crested Cranes player to play in Finland after goalkeeper Ruth Aturo who played for KTP Kotka in 2021.

The diminutive forward previously played for Vaxjo DFF and IFK Kalmar in Sweden as well Dornbirn Ladies (Austria) and Italy’s CF Pomigliano.
