Vipers SC forward Abubaker Lawal has been tragically died on Monday morning.
According to Police Preliminary Reports the Nigerian fell off on the third floor of voice Shopping Mall where he had gone to meet his Tanzanian friend Omary Naima. It was established that he was pronounced dead at Entebbe referral hospital.
Police also confirmed that items which included two smartphones, a pair of open shoes, headsets, a training kit, and chargers belonging to the deceased were found in his backpack.
Lawal was unused substitute during Vipers 2-0 win over Mbarara City FC in Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 tie at Kitende.
He last featured for the six time Uganda Premier league against KCCA FC when he replaced Moses Waiswa in the 85th minute at Lugogo.
This season, Lawal had made eight league appearances for Vipers.
He joined the Kitende based side in July 2022 from Rwanda’s AS Kigali where he had spent two season.
Lawal had also previously played in the Nigerian Premier League with Kano Pillars FC, Wikki Tourists FC and FC Nasarawa.
