FUFA Big League entity Blacks Power have stunned 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup runners up NEC FC 2-0 at Lugogo to reach last 16.
Innocent Maduka and Joshua Omara second half goals were enough to send the Big League side into the last 16.
NEC FC’s attacker Paul Mucureezi had a moment to forget when his penalty early in the second period was ruled out for a double kick.
Blacks Power’s Maduka opened the scoring when he dribbled past NEC’s defence to fire past Benjamin Ochan.
With 10 minutes to regulation time, Omara doubled the visitor’s advantage after being fed by Maduka.
Mucureezi also had a decent chance towards the end to at least find a consolation for last year’s runners up but his effort went wide.
Blacks Power join SC Villa, Vipers SC, BUL FC, KCCA FC, Total FC, URA FC, UPDF FC, Rwenzori Lions into the last 16.
