The 14th edition of the East Africa Local Authorities Cultural Association (2025 EALASCA) Games officially began on Tuesday, 25th February at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
Minister of Kampala City and Metropolitan Affairs Hajjati Minsa Kabanda and KCCA Executive Director Sharifah Buzeki graced the grand opening.
Kenya won the Tug of War with the Kenyan women and Men registering a 2-0 scoreline each over Uganda.
Kenya’s CASA needed a comeback win to overcome KCCA Councilors 3-1 in the opening football match.
Bonny Ssebunoni had given KCCA Councilors the lead before Steven Mwangi netted a brace with Oben Mwale scoring the other for Kenya’s CASA.
CASA is managed by former Kenya National football team (Harambee Stars) players Mohammed Dudu and Morris Sunguti.
Meanwhile, the Indoor games such as Darts, Pool, Draught, Scrabble and Chess will start on Wednesday, 26th February 2025 at Hamz Stadium.
In football Mbale will take on Jinja (Technical) before KICOSCA battles KCCA while CASA will lock horns with Jinja on Wednesday.
