Express FC have signed budding left-back Shafik Lugolobi on loan from URA FC until the end of the season, Swift Sports understands.
Lugolobi joins Express as a direct replacement for Hakim Wandera who left the club and joined NEC FC on a three year contract as earlier reported by this website.
Joining Express is a move meant for Lugolobi to earn sufficient playing time which has been hard to come his way while at URA FC.
Lugolobi joined URA at the start of the previous season from FUFA Big League side Ntugasaze FC but has spent the better part of his stay at the club sidelined by injury.
He made his Uganda Premier League debut in May last year, incidentally, against Express FC as the Tax Collectors got a 5-0 victory at Nakivubo.
Lugolobi, who also previously played for Buweekula and Butambala in the Masaza Cup, is the second signing made by Express in the ongoing window after midfielder Marvin Nyanzi.
The Red Eagles who are under the tutelage of Jimmy Kintu, will face Entebbe UPPC FC in their first second round game on Valentine’s Day at Nakivubo.
