Uganda Cubs had a perfect response to their defeat over Morocco with a 3-0 win over their East African neighbors Tanzania on match day 2 of the CAF U-17 AFCON on Thursday.
Simon Wanyama, Richard Okello and James Bogere scored the three goals for Brian Ssenyondo side in the second to keep their knockout hopes alive.
The Cubs are also on the course of qualifying for the U-17 World Cup in case they advance to the knock phase in Morocco.
Wanyama gave the Cubs the lead in the 61st minute before Okello doubled their advantage in the 84th minute.
Bogere who was named man of the match for his impressive performances put the seal on Uganda’s win in added time.

Uganda is now third in Group A and will need to avoid defeat over Zambia to secure a place in the knockout phase as well as the U-17 World Cup.
