Uganda Premier league side Police FC have part ways with their head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

The development comes after Police FC suffered a 3-1 defeat to relegation threatened Soltilo Bright Stars on Thursday at Kavumba Recreation grounds.

Mugerwa guided the Cops to the Uganda Premier league promotion having won the FUFA Big League title last season.

This website understands that Mugerwa will be replaced by Matia Lule as the Cops aim to end the season in a better league placement.

Mugerwa leaves Police FC in 12th place with 23 points and also led them to the Stanbic Uganda Cup Quarterfinals.

He managed four wins, 11 draws and suffered seven defeats in the league this term at the Cops.

Besides Police FC, Mugerwa has been at several clubs including Fire Masters, Sports Club Villa, (Assistant coach), Soltilo Bright Stars(Assistant/ interim Head coach), and recently Proline FC (Head coach).

He also guided Bulemeezi (2019) and Busiro (2022) to the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup triumphs.
