Zaina Namuleme scored four goals as Makerere University thumped Wakiso Hill 6-1 in the Women Super League at the St. Gerald’s Stadium in Lubaga.
Namuleme opened the scoring as early as the second minute of the game with a ferocious strike.
Wakiso Hill equalized in the 4th minute through Resty Maggie Bwire who headed the ball perfectly from close range following a goal mouth melee from a corner kick.
Namuleme capitalized on Wakiso Hill’s abysmal defending to restore Makerere’s lead from close range in the 10th minute.
The former Kampala Queens skipper completed her hat trick in the 67th minute when she flawlessly converted from the penalty spot following Rukia Namusoke’s handball in the forbidden area.
Namuleme then made it 4-1 with a brilliant curler in the three minutes and subsequently took her season tally to seven goals.
Former Wakiso Hill forward Rashida Nankya also got on the score sheet against her former paymasters in the 75th minute.
Rebecca Nakasaato sealed the day with a tap in after goalkeeper Halima Kasuubo failed to deal with Winnie Nakanwagi’s teasing delivery in the 79th minute.
The win propelled Makerere University to the 6th place on 22 points.
Wakiso Hill who remain as the only winless team in the league, are all but relegated having garnered only five points from 17 games played.
