Uganda Premier league table leaders Vipers SC will turn focus to the Stanbic Uganda Cup when they take on SC Villa in the Quarterfinals on Monday.
Vipers who are set to dethrone SC Villa in the league will also be aiming to end the Jogoos’ chances of silverware this term.
In the league, Vipers beat SC Villa 2-1 at Kitende in the first game before Morley Byekwaso’s side avenged in the second round 1-0 at Wankulukuku.
SC Villa last won the Stanbic Uganda Cup ten years ago when they smiled to a 3-0 win over KCCA FC in the rearranged final that was held at Namboole following incidents in Ntungamo.
For Vipers they are searching for yet another historic double to add to their 2022/23 success.
Vipers SC are set to miss the services of Enock Luyima who was stretched off in the victory over NEC FC on Thursday last week while Ronald Ssekiganda and Cyrus Kibande are the only two injured players for SC Villa.
The two sides last faced off in the Stanbic Uganda Cup in 2018 when Vipers beat SC Villa 1-0 on aggregate in the two legged Semifinal.
Meanwhile, KCCA FC and Kitara FC are the two sides that have already sealed Semifinal slots following their triumphs over Kaaro Karungi and BUL FC respectively.
