Vipers SC kept their dreams of another historic double alive after edging SC Villa 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Easter Monday at Kitende.

Second half substitute Milton Karisa scored the all important goal to send the Venoms into the last four.

Karisa headed home with two minutes to regulation time after SC Villa goalkeeper Jean Braddy Wokorach failed to deal with Abdul-Karim Watambala’s shot.

The game looked destined for extra-time and possibly penalty shootouts.

SC Villa last won the competition in 2015 when they beat KCCA FC in the final at Namboole.

For Vipers they will now be seeking another historic double and join KCCA FC and Kitara FC in the semis.

Meanwhile, the quarterfinal stage will climax on Tuesday when Police FC takes on FUFA Big League side Kataka at Kavumba Recreation center.
