Newly elected Buganda Region delegate vows to elavate football to great heights

After beating Sam Mpiima to the Hajji Abdul Buganda Region delegate’s position, Hajji Abdul Sekabira Lukooya has promised to uplift the game of football to heights that haven’t been achieved before.

Lukooya made the remarks at FUFA house Mengo where the elections were held on 30th April 2025.

“It is a great opportunity to be appointed in this position. I appreciate the delegates for the trust and I promise to fully perfom under the Regional chairman Andrew Kaweesa.”

“Football is a fair game, we have have won and now it’s time to serve. I call upon my competitors to join me as we serve the beautiful game. In all ways football has to win.”

Out of the 47 delegates who participated in the voting, Hajji Abdul Lukooya Sekabira got 27 votes and the incumbent Sam Mpiima got 20 votes.

Kaweesa the Buganda Region chairman called for togetherness after the elections,

“Competitions are done, now it’s time to work, let’s all join hands to make Buganda better I take this as a 90 minutes game that is now done.”
