Barring a miracle, Vipers will be Uganda Premier League champions for the 2024/25 season after leading from the front and dominating the rest of the division.

With three matches left to play, the Venoms sit seven points clear of second-placed NEC. They could wrap up the top-flight title long before the campaign’s conclusion on May 24. So when could they win the title.

The Kitende based side humbled already relegated Mbale Heroes 6-0 on Wednesday to edge closer to the title while second placed NEC drew 1-1 with BUL FC on the same day at Lugogo.

John Ayala’s side have managed to win 20 of their 27 games in the league with just two losses and five draws to their name.

This, coupled with the dramatic drop-off from defending champions SC Villa, and inconsistency from the likes of KCCA F, NEC FC and BUL FC, means that Vipers are potentially just a few days away from winning the league for a seventh league title.

It is certainly a case of when, rather than if, for Vipers. Here, we look at how soon they can wrap things up this season.

How many points does Vipers need to win the title?

NEC FC who currently sit in second, are on 58 points and, with three matches remaining, can only reach a maximum of 67 points.

That means Vipers, who are on 65 points, only need one win from the remaining three matches to guarantee the league title.

What are Vipers’ remaining League fixtures?

The Venoms have three matches remaining in which to secure the League title. They will face off with BUL FC on 10th May before travelling to Kitara FC on 14. They will end their league season against relegated Soltilo Bright Stars on 24th May at Kitende

When is the earliest Vipers’ can win the Uganda Premier League?

Victory against BUL FC at Njeru on Saturday will see Venoms crowned champions.
