The Uganda Secondary School Sports Association disciplinary committee has disqualified Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) at the ongoing national Boys’ football championship in Ngora.

The disciplinary came after JIPRA officials attacked the assistant referee during their semifinal contest with St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende.

JIPRA who were trailing 1-0 in the first period thought they had levelled matters in the 39th minute but the assistant referee flagged for offside.

Angry JIPRA officials attacked the assistant referee who ran towards the center to save his dear life.

The match was abandoned with the match officials rescued by the Police.

USSSA has now decided that 11-time national champions St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende will contest the final due on Wednesday with rivals Buddo who eliminated Bukedea Comprehensive School 5-4 on penalties.

For JIPRA their journey has prematurely ended due to indiscipline and have been told to vacate the championship immediately.

It should be remembered that Kitende beat Buddo SS 2-0 when the two sides faced off in the Wakiso Zone Finals. Kitende are coached by Hassan Zungu while Buddo SS are under the stewardship of Richard Malinga.
