Vipers SC co-coach Fred Muhumuza has revealed that the club President Dr Lawrence Mulindwa doesn’t interfere with the team lineups on match-days.
While appearing on NBS Sport, Muhumuza asserted that Mulindwa’s only concern is the players signed and don’t get playing time.
“Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa doesn’t interfere with lineups, but he will be concerned when he signs a player and that player doesn’t play. He’ll ask you, ‘Did I sign a wrong player?” Said Muhumuza
Muhumuza also narrated how they denied SC Villa a league title on the final day of the 2022/23 season during his tenure at URA FC
“While at URA heading into that final game of the 2022/23 season against Villa, I told the players that we are going out to make history, because had we failed to win that game, they would have said we were paid so that they [Villa] win the league. Glad we won that game.” Said Muhumuza
Muhumuza alongside John Ayala Luyinda joined Alex Isabirye Musongola as the coaches to have won a double at Vipers SC.
They also joined the elite class of coaches to have won a double in Ugandan football history Geoff Hudson (SC Villa), Polly Ouma (SC Villa), Mike Mutebi(KCCA FC), Jimmy Muguwa(Express FC and Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho (SC Villa).
Meanwhile, the Venoms are expected to beef up their technical staff with a foreign tactician this transfer window with both Muhumuza and Ayala working under him.Vipers SC has already acquired the services of Jude Ssemugabi from Kitara FC.
