Super Eagles Lugongwe and CATDA play to stalemate in first of the two legged promotion playoff

Super Eagles Lugongwe and CATDA FC played to a one all draw in the first Regional League promotional play off final played at Kasanda Ssaza grounds.

Bruno Mukwaya drew first blood for CATDA FC as early as the 4th minute giving CATDA FC an early lead.

Super Eagles Lugongwe levelled the game three minutes to halftime through Sam Lukoye.

Davis Nono Ssozi the assistant head coach Super Eagles Lugongwe is optimistic his side will give the best in the return leg,

“We have noted all the mistakes that hindered us from registering victory today plus those that led us to conceding an early goal.”

“There is no resting, we are going to work on the above. If everyone plays his role at the club perfectly well we are hitting our season target on Sunday which is promotion to the FUFA Big League.”

The two sides will face off in the return leg at Bugolobi Coffee grounds on Sunday 22nd June and the aggregate winner will automatically join the FUFA Big League.

Super Eagles Lugongwe were winners of the Buganda Regional League 2024-25 season after defeating Kira United FC 10-9 in spot kicks after a full-time goalless draw.

CATDA FC ejected Ntinda United 4-2 in spot kicks following a goalless full-time draw to emerge winners of the Kampala Regional League 2024-25.
