NEC eye out of contract Kitara defender

Uganda Premier league side NEC FC are interested in signing out of contract Kitara FC defender Benjamin Nyakoojo.

Nyakoojo had his employment contract at Kitara FC expire at the start of this month and this website understands that NEC FC are strong admirers of the defender.

He has for the previous two seasons been featuring for the Hoima based side having joined them from URA FC.

The towering defender spent five solid years at URA FC having joined them at the start of the 2018/19 season.

Nyakoojo played a pivotal role for Kitara FC in their Stanbic Uganda Cup triumph in 2024.

Nyakoojo on NEC FC’s radar

He is a former St. Mary’s Kitende player who also featured Vipers SC as well as Masavu FC and Entebbe FC.

NEC FC are expected to be very busy in the transfer market and have already agreed deals with Hudson Mbalire, Timonth Muwanguzi and are also scrambling for Titus Ssematimba’s signature.

The Hussein Mbalangu coached side will represent Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup next season following their second place finish in the league.
