UPDF FC head coach Paul Kiwanuka has been appointed as the Butambala Ssaza team head coach.
Hassan Mubiru Kaseese who had been named head coach will now work under Kiwanuka during the tournament.
Butambala lost their opening game 1-0 to Asaph Mwebaze’s Mawogola.
Kiwanuka has a rich coaching background having previously coached at Soltilo Bright Stars, Vipers SC and Rwanda Premier League side Gasogi United.
In the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup, Kiwanuka has served at Kyaddondo and Busiro Ssaza.
Kiwanuka’s first game in charge of Butambala will be at home against Kabula on Saturday, 5th July 2025.
Butambala is in Muganzirwazza group along with Ssingo, Kyaggwe, Mawogola, Kabula and Kkooki.
They have never won the prestigious Buganda Kingdom organized championship and will be aiming for their maiden glory this year.
