Uganda Premier league side Mbarara City FC could lose seven players this transfer window following expiration of their employment contracts.

The Ankole Lions survived relegation last term but could be without seven of their squad members heading into the new season.

Among them is Peter Onzima who joined from SC Villa earlier this year on a six month contract which expired last month.

Ibrahim Kazindula, joined also on a six month deal midway into the season. The other players set for exit at Mbarara City are Edward Namaasa, Henry Musisi, Paul Busolo, Aaron Okwi and goalkeeper Abdul Kimera.

Kimera joined the Ankole Lions from Police FC but his current deal at the Mbarara expired at the end of June while Musisi has been at the club since 2022.

The Ankole Lions finished 12th on the Uganda Premier league table last season with 32 points as they overcame relegation threat.
