Uganda Premier league side BUL FC are close to reaching an agreement with FUFA Big League top scorer Lawrence Kambugu.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that the Eastern Giants are ready to offer Kambugu a two year employment contract in this transfer window.

Kambugu is out of contract at FUFA Big League entity Ntugasaze FC and is unlikely to renew his stay at the club.

The Rays of Grace Academy graduate scored 15 goals to claim the 2024/25 golden boot.

He secured his golden boot with a hat-trick during Ntugasaze’s 6-3 defeat to Kaaro Karungi on the final day. He finished two goals ahead of Ambrose Kigozi of Kiyinda Boys who scored 13.

BUL FC have already renewed employment contracts for their head coach Abbey Kikomeko and experienced defender Walter Ochora who signed two years each.

The Eastern giants finished third on the Uganda Premier league table last term and will be busy in the transfer window in the bid to build a competitive team for the forthcoming season.
