Striker Alfred Leku set to join UPL side

South Sudanese striker Alfred Leku is set to sign for Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC, Swift Sports understands.

Leku who is a free agent is currently training with Lugazi FC ahead of the transfer deadline day on Friday.

The gangly striker recently parted ways with Kenya Premier League champions Police FC following the expiry of his contract.

Leku has previously played for Vipers, URA FC, Express, Onduparaka, Proline, Arua Hill and Rwanda’s Kiyovu Sports Club.

He had a stint in Botswana with Extension Gunners and Jwaneng Galaxy and Zambia with ZESCO United.

Lugazi already signed David Bagoole, Billy Wabwire, Allan Igama Batali, Muhammad Kakooza, Amos Etoju, Adam Mutesasira, Solomon Okwalinga, Edrine Owachgiu, Dauson Mafumu, Yusuf Mafabi and Paul Busolo.

The Najjembe based side will be under the tutelage of Steven Bogere alongside Francis Mugerwa in their second season of the topflight.
