Lugazi fight from a goal down to complete a remarkable comeback over Calvary

Lugazi FC rallied from behind to defeat debutants Calvary FC 3-1 at Najjembe. Simon Peter Odeke had opened the scoring for the debutants in as early as the 12th minute, putting Jimmy Kintu’s charges in the lead.

Eight minutes later, defender Paul Wasswa levelled for the hosts. In the 21st minute Lugazi FC made an early change as Freedom Mungidut replaced Amos Etoju.

Sharif Yusuf Ssaka scored the second goal for Lugazi FC in the 29th minute from a close range.

Ashiraf Mulindi sealed it off 11 minutes to full-time scoring in an empty net with goalkeeper Hadji Shukuru off his area.

The victory extends Lugazi’s dominance over Calvary after also winning the previous six meetings between the two sides.

On Wednesday 1st October Lugazi FC, will visit Entebbe UPPC FC at Bugonga Fisheries grounds in Entebbe.

Calvary FC play fellow debutants Buhimba Saints United FC next on Friday 3rd October at Butema.
