Santos Laguna 2-1 Mazatlán

Sandra Nabweteme scored from close range to inspire Santos Laguna to a 2-1 win over Mazatlán in the Mexican Women’s League.

Nabweteme tapped in a close from Nigerian Vivian Ikechukwu in the 32nd minute, a goal that proved to be a winner at the full-time.

The Crested Cranes forward who recently returned from injury, has now scored three goals in the 10 games she has played in this season.

Nabweteme’s services have been dearly missed during her injury lay off having proven to be the club’s go-to forward since last season.

She has scored a total of 10 goals in 30 domestic games since joining the Laguna based side mid-way last year.

Victory took Santos Laguna to 12 points and in the 15th place on the table of 18 teams.

Nabweteme’s compatriot Juliet Nalukenge who also plays in the same league, was a late substitute as her Atlas Femenil side lost 3-2 to Club America.
