Asubo Ladies 2-2 Kampala Queens

Kampala Queens were held by Asubo Ladies to a 2-2 draw in a Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League encounter at Kampala Quality in Kisasi.

The result stands out as the most shocking of the match day given the most recent performances and situations of both sides.

Kampala Queens got the lead through former Asubo Ladies forward Kamiyat Naigaga who launched a low strike at the edge of the box in the 42nd minute.

Asubo equalized through Bitta Faiza who capitalized on a defensive gaffe to beat goalkeeper Sharon Kaidu to the ball in the 71st minute.

The defending champions regained the lead courtesy of an own goal by Zainah Namboozo following a Catherine Nagadya free kick in the 83rd minute.

Asubo were awarded a stoppage time penalty following Marrion Amangat’s foul on Sarah Babirye in the box.

Namboozo stepped up to make amends and flawlessly sent Kaidu the wrong way and ultimately won a priceless point for Asubo.

The result took Asubo’s tally to two points from the four games played but remained bottom of the league table level on points with Uganda Martyrs and Olila High School.

Kampala Queens have eight points, two behind joint-leaders Kawempe Muslim and She Corporate who won their respective games against Uganda Martyrs and Amus College.
