Uganda to play 2022 World Cup semifinalists Morocco in friendly Match

Uganda Cranes will face off with Africa’s number one ranked side Morocco in the international friendly match.

According to the development the Cranes will lock horns with Morocco at Grand Stadium in Tangier on 18th November 2025. In the same month, Paul Put’s men are also set to play another friendly match.

Uganda is currently 83rd in the World dropping from 82nd in the previous September rankings.

The Cranes fell short of reaching a historic World Cup during the Group stage qualifiers that concluded this month.

Morocco on the hand are ranked 12th in the World and number one in Africa. In the November international break, the 2022 World Cup semifinalists will also play Mozambique on 14th November 2025.

Morocco recently qualified for the 2026 expanded FIFA World Cup in North America and will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due in December and January next year.

The friendly matches will help the nations prepare for AFCON 2025 due in Morocco between December 21st, 2025 and January 18 2026.

Morocco is in Group A of the AFCON 2025 along with Comoros, Mali, Morocco, Zambia while Uganda is in Group C with Nigeria, Tanzania and Tunisia.
