Uganda Cranes East African neighbours Tanzania have named Miguel Gamondi as their new head coach.
Gamondi is the current head coach at Singida Black Stars and replaces Hemed Suleiman who helped the Taifa Stars qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Tanzania Football Federation terminated Hemed’s employment contract in a statement which reads,
“The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has terminated the contract of the Head Coach of the national team (Taifa Stars), Hemed Suleiman ‘Morocco.”
“The contract has been terminated by mutual agreement between the two parties, TFF on one side and Coach Morocco on the other. Following this decision, TFF has appointed Miguel Gamondi, coach of Singida Black Stars, as Acting Head Coach of Taifa Stars. Talks have already taken place between TFF and Singida Black Stars regarding Coach Gamondi taking on these new responsibilities.”
Tanzania are Uganda’s AFCON 2025 opponents in Group C along with Nigeria and Tunisia. Paul Put’s Uganda will battle with Tanzania on Saturday, 27th December, 2025.
