Namuwongo Blazers have won their maiden National Basketball League title after their 68-55 win over City Oilers in Game six on Wednesday.
Nam Blazers cake from two games down to win the 4-2 in the best of seven series ending City Oilers dominance.
City Oilers had won 10 straight NBL titles since 2013 and were seeking another crown after winning the opening two games of the finals.
Blazers emphatically won four straight games to dethrone City Oilers off their perch.
Jimmy Enabu, James Okello, Tonny Drilleba and Ivan Muhwezi inspired Blazers to victory.
Okello managed 16 points, Enabu added 12, Drilleba scored 10 while Peter Obleng contributed to 11 points.
Jordan Bowie (13), Fayed Baale (11), Moses Maker (10), and Kurt-Curry Wegscheider (10), contributed to City Oilers points but were not enough to lead them to a record extending championship.
City Oilers have lately struggled since the departure of Mandy Juruni who won nine NBL titles, before joining Rwanda’s Kepler University.
Key players such as James Okello, Tonny Drilleba, and Jimmy Enabu also left.
