Alex Isabirye has been appointed as BUL FC head coach, Swift Sports reliably confirms.

Isabirye returns for a third stint in charge at the club to replace Bogere Abbey Kikomeko who was relieved of his coaching duties alongside his assistants last week.

Isabirye was and remains a hugely popular figure at BUL FC having guided the club to a historic Stanbic Uganda Cup triumph in 2022, which was also the club’s first major title.

He first coached at BUL FC in the 2015/16 and returned to the club in February 2021 before his departure to Vipers SC in 2023.

He is one of the most decorated coaches in the country and his continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate to steer BUL FC back to the rails.

He is expected to work alongside Daniel Kabale who was announced as the club’s interim coach last week but also Patrick Crespo Asiku and Kenneth Magada.

Isabirye’s most immediate task will be an away fixture against Calvary FC Midigo in Yumbe on January 7th 2026.

BUL FC currently sit 12th on the Uganda Premier League table with 10 points accumulated from 11 games played so far.
