Crested Cranes forward Fauzia Najjemba has completed a move to the National Women Soccer League after signing a two year contract with Boston Legacy FC in USA.
Najjemba recently parted ways with Russia’s FC Dynamo following the expiry of her contract.
Boston Legacy have today officially announced the signing of Najjemba with a mutual option of an extension.
The 22 year old previously played for Mukono High School, Isra Soccer Academy, Kampala Queens and Kazakhstan’s BIIK Kazygurt before joining FC Dynamo in 2023.
“I’m really excited to join Boston Legacy,” said Najjemba. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to give my all for the team. I’m so proud to represent Boston and eager to get to work.” Najjemba added.
She becomes the second Ugandan to join the NWSL after Shadia Nankya who joined Washington Spirit last year from Egypt’s FC Masar.
Nankya spent the entire the last season on loan at Dallas Trinity FC in the USL Super League.
Boston Legacy, located in Boston, Massachusetts, was founded in 2023 and will be playing in the NWSL for the first time this year.
