Vipers SC extended their lead at the top of the Uganda Premier League table with a 3-0 win over URA FC at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Saturday.
Abdul Karim Watambala scored in either half with Gusto Mulongo scoring the other goal for the Venoms.
Watambala netted in the first minute of the contest after goalkeeper Derrick Ochan had failed to deal with Odili Chukwuma’s effort in the area.
Usama Arafat came close to doubling Vipers lead but his effort missed the crossbar in the 19th minute.
Ten minutes to regulation time, Mulongo doubled the Venoms lead after being fed by Usama.
Watambala put the cherry on the icing of the cake with the third goal for the visitors who move to 30 points, three above second placed Police FC and KCCA FC who are both on 27 points.
Vipers next host Police FC on Tuesday, 27th January. Meanwhile, the tax collectors are 15th with 11 points.
