Abdallah Mubiru’s Entebbe UPPC registered a narrow 1-0 win over KCCA FC under the lights of Lugogo on Friday.
Ambrose Kigozi scored the all important goal for the Entebbe based side who recorded their sixth consecutive clean-sheet.
Mubiru deployed four former KCCA FC players in Julius Poloto, Mustafa Mujjuzi, Steven Munguchi and Isa Mubiru.
Kigozi gave the visitors the lead at the stroke of halftime when he spectacularly controlled Mubiru’s long pass to slot past goalkeeper Charles Lukwago.
In the second period, Sammy Ssebaduka came close to levelling matters for the Kasasiro Boys but his header in the 56th minute hit custodian Rogers Omedwa.
Muhammad Kyeyune had a decent chance to double UPPC’s lead moments later but failed to hit the target.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe had his effort in the 66th minute blocked by Ahmed Amayo who put a great display along with Mujjuzi.
UPPC maximized points on Mubiru’s return to Lugogo where he coached for two spells.
UPPC temporarily go into second place displacing KCCA FC but both teams are on 30 points.
