Experienced goalkeeper to leave NEC FC

NEC FC is to part ways with experienced goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan following expiry of his employment contract at the club.

Ochan joined NEC in January 2024 on a two year deal as a free agent after he had exited KCCA FC at end of the 2022/23 season whom he had played for a third spell.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that Ochan will not extend his stay at the Bugolobi based side.

Ochan has been one of the vice captains at NEC FC and helped the side reach the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup final and as well as a second place finish in the league during the 2024/25 season.

The experienced Ochan has prevously played for Bloemfontein Celtic, SC Villa, defunct Victoria university, Kabwe in Zambia warriors, AFC Leopards in Kenya and KCCA FC where he spent three different spells.

At KCCA, he won two Uganda Premier League titles in 2015-16 and 2016-2017 seasons and also guided now defunct Sports Club Victoria University to the CECAFA Nile Basin Cup in 2014.

Ochan also won the Uganda Cup in 2016-2017 season with KCCA.

For the Uganda Cranes, Ochan has 17 caps and featured at two CHAN championships 2014 (South Africa) and 2018 (Morocco).
