UBF registers record turnout at National Intermediate Boxing Championship

Over 700 boxers graced the 2026 edition of National intermediate boxing championships that is being organized by the Uganda Boxing Federation at TLC- Kamwokya.

The Championships that started on the 21st March and will climax on 28th -2026 at the same venue.

Lukanga boxing club, Zebra boxing club, Cobap, Lubya, Kadiba boxing club, Katwe boxing club, Arua boxing club, Mbuya boxing club, Ssaku, Kcca boxing club are some of the clubs that have participants in the event.

Boxers from Afghanistan and DR Congo are among those who graced the championship.

Kamoga Sula who serves as vice President administration at UBF asserts that the record turnout is due to good promotion.

“We have tremendously promoted the event and this is why we are having such a great turn out. The annual Boxing Champions League has also held us record that amazing number and we hope to have big turnouts in the forthcoming events.” Said Kamoga.

This is the first event organized by Uganda Boxing Federation this year and all the semi-finalists championships will contest in the national open boxing championship that due in April. Thursday and Friday will be rest days with action resuming and climaxing on Saturday.
