Three time Buganda Masaza Cup champions Buddu have appointed Brian Muwonge as their technical director for the 2026 tournament.
Buddu who had a premature ending to their title defence last year, failing to reach the knockout phase will be seeking a successful campaign this term.
Muwonge replaces Mujjuzi Moore who served in the same capacity during the previous two years. Mujjuzi is currently at Busiro where he was appointed as Team Manager.
Muwonge has previously served as Kkooki team manager during the 2024 and 2025 Masaza Cup campaign. He is also the head of scouting at St Charles Lwanga SS Kasasa.
Buddu remain in search for a new head coach with George Lutalo, Simon Dungu, Noah Mugerwa and Yusuf Kinene among the notable names on the shortlist.
Eric Kisuze who was at the helms of the three time champions last year is also in contention for the job.
Buddu are 2016, 2021 and 2024 Masaza Cup winners. This year’s prestigious competition is scheduled to kick off in mid-June.
Buweekula are the reigning champions following their triumph over neighbours Ssingo during last year’s final that was held at Nakivubo Stadium.
