Dr Dennis Mugimba, the Chairperson of the AFCON 2027 Uganda Sub-committee for communications has confirmed that Hoima City Stadium media tribune is to be widened in preparation for the continental showpiece to be co-hosted in East Africa.
In February, the CAF inspection team led by Dr Christian Emeruwa (Head of Safety & Security) and Stephanie Totokra (Head of Infrastructure) conducted the inspections at host venues for AFCON 2027 and declared that none of the three hosting nations (Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania) was ready.
According to the report Hoima City Stadium media facilities were below CAF standards while addressing the media on Tuesday, Mugimba confirmed that they are to widened the tribune to meet the required CAF levels.

Meanwhile, the government has allocated UShs. 91.05 billion to the upgrade of Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Masindi General Hospital, and Buseruka Health Centre-III to a capacity where they can handle ICU, accident and emergency care amongothers as per requirements of CAF.
The government also allocated Shs13.75 billion to Hoima City (UShs. 6.55 billion) and Masindi Municipality (UShs. 5.1 billion) towards improvement of sanitation and environmental hygiene services during the tournament.
