Kitara FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Lugazi FC at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Saturday.

Goals from Patrick Henry Kaddu and second half substitute Muhammad Shaban earned the Royals maximum points.

John Busolo had levelled matters for the home side but his goal turned out to be a consolation.

Kitara came into the contest back of two draws and defeat in their previous three games and needed a response at Lugazi to keep their title hopes alive.

Lugazi finished with a man-less following Richard Ayiko’s red card in the 88nd minute.

The three goals came in the second period with Kaddu giving the visitors the lead in the 72nd minute for his eighth goal of the season.

Busolo restored parity in eight minutes to regulation time after being fed by John Buga.

Lugazi captain Ayiko was shown red moments after referee Lucky Kasalirwe waved away Lugazi’s penalty claim when Ivan Birungi was fouled in the forbidden area.

Second half substitute Shaban sealed maximum points for the visitors with his first goal for the Royals.

Kitara moves to 51 points after completing a double over Lugazi, four adrift of leaders Vipers who play Entebbe UPPC tomorrow.
