The 2025/26 Pepsi University Football League will officially climax on Saturday at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo with YMCA taking on Muteesa I Royal University in the final.

The two finalists have never won the competition and this is their maiden final.

Both sides are determined and confident of smiling to the title. While addressing the media in the post match press conference, YMCA head coach Frances Totti Sande expect his charges to win the title.

“I have a lot of confidence in my players because they have played many high-level matches, including the Masaza Cup. I believe we are going to lift the trophy,” he said.

YMCA needed a 6-5 penalty shootout to overcome two time champions Kampala University during the semifinal stage.

Muteesa 1 Royal University tactician Ssengabi George William asserted about his team’s readiness for the game of their lives.

“We appreciate the organizers of this tournament. My team is more than ready we have been waiting for this moment, and I strongly believe the trophy is heading to Masaka,” he stated

Muteesa I Royal University secured a slot in the final with a shock 3-1 win away to St Lawrence University. The result saw them cruise to the final 3-1 on aggregate after the two legged semifinal.

In last year’s edition, Uganda Martyrs University claimed the title with a commanding 3-0 victory over St Lawrence University at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.
