The 2026 edition of the prestigious Buganda Kingdom organized Masaza Cup Group stage will be held on Tuesday, 19th in Bulange Mengo.
The 18 Masaza Cup teams will be grouped into three groups which are Muganzirwazza, Masengere and Bulange.
The draw will be conducted basing on the performances of each team during last year’s championship.
Each Group will comprise of six teams with the top two teams with the most points advancing to the quarterfinal stage along with the best two third placed teams after the climax of the group phase.
Buweekula are reigning competition champions following their maiden triumph over Ssingo last year at Nakivubo Stadium.
Gomba are the record champions with five trophies having won it 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020. This year they are under the stewardship of last term’s winning coach Felix Ssekabuuza.
Buddu, Bulemeezi and Mawokota have won it three times each while Ssingo has two trophies. Kyaddondo, Busiro and Buluuli have won it once.
Kyaggwe, Busujju, Mawogola, Buvuma, Ssese, Bugerere, Butambala, Kkooki and Kabula have never won it. This year’s event is slated to kick off on June, 13th in Buweekula.
