Uganda Cranes draw Tunisia in AFCON 2027 Qualifiers Group

Uganda Cranes has been drawn in Group H of the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Uganda who will co-host the tournament next year will face North Africans sides Tunisia and Libya and Botswana.

Uganda,being co-hosts for the continental showpiece have already secured automatic slot for the event in East Africa.

Paul Put’s men will use the qualification campaign for preparations for the championship that they will host along with Kenya and Tanzania.

The draw presents Uganda with an Tunisia are 2004 African champions and also made to the World Cup due this year. Libya and Botswana are Uganda’s other opponents in Group H.

Only one team will prevail to the final tournament from this group since Uganda is already assured of a slot as co-hosts.

Qualification matches will be played between September 2026 and March 2027.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, branded AFCON Pamoja, will run from 19 June to 17 July 2027 and will be the first ever showpiece on the African continent to be hosted by three East African nations.

It will also mark the first AFCON ever staged in East Africa by multiple countries, turning the 2027 edition into far more than just another football tournament.
